Lost In Translation:

Design Across Cultures.

By Jamie Buckley / PDD Group

November 15, 2015

PDD's Design Insight team spoke at the PACE* conference on the importance of understanding multi-cultural nuancesuances when designing packaging for different markets. This book provides a brief exploration of the wider issues surrounding cross-culture design, information on how to tackle it and inspiration from others who have done it well (and badly).

*Packaging and Converting Executive Forum

This eBook presents the content from that talk in a more reader-friendly format. If you're interested in designing packaging for different cultures, you'll find some examples (good and bad packaging) and tips on taking culture into consideration. But even if you're not particularly interested in packaging, the core ideas are still relevant if you're researching or designing products, experiences, or services for cultures other than your own.

From a brief exploration of the wider issues surrounding cross-cultural design, to some information on how to tackle it and inspiration from how others have done it well and badly, we hope you'll be able to take something useful from this book to apply to your role, category or sector.
