For over 20 years, Michelle Woodhouse has been an award-winning leader in the public, private, non-profit, and startup sectors in the US and UK. Michelle’s specialty is being a strong, strategic generalist bringing human-centered design skills to her leadership roles. Most recently, she has served as a University of California, San Diego Design Lab Designer-in-Residence supporting the World Design Capital San Diego-Tijuana 2024 winning bid. She is also known for her contributions as a human-centered design facilitator for The Design Academy, Chief Design Officer for State of Place, Sustainability Program Manager for the Design Council, Associate Planner for the City of Irvine, and Planning Project Manager for FORMA Design. Michelle has been honored with numerous leadership awards for her contributions to the City of Irvine’s Great Park, the Orange County Turkish American Association, the Orange County Association of Environmental Professionals, Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity, and the University of California, Irvine. She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a BA in Environmental Analysis and Design from the University of California, Irvine, and lives in San Diego, CA with her husband David and two daughters, Ava and Lana.
